VIRGINIA ACTS OF ASSEMBLY -- CHAPTER An Act to provide for the discontinuation of tolls collected for use of the ferry across the James River between Scotland and Jamestown. [H 1056] Approved

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. The Commonwealth Transportation Board shall immediately cease the collection of tolls for the use of the ferry across the James River between Scotland and Jamestown.

2. That the provisions of this act shall not become effective until July 1, 1997, in order to allow the Department of Transportation sufficient time to receive or solicit proposals for the operation of the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry service pursuant to the Public-Private Transportation Act of 1995 or the Virginia Public Procurement Act.
