SUMMARY:

Property conveyance. Authorizes the Department of Conservation and Recreation, with the approval of the Governor and the Attorney General, to exchange a parcel of real property in Belle Isle State Park in Lancaster County for a parcel of real property owned by Edward G. and Rosemary N. Gruis. The additional parcel will allow construction of a public access road at the park without damaging wetlands or incurring additional costs of wetlands mitigation. The exchanged parcels will be conveyed on an acre for acre basis. As additional consideration for the exchange, the Department will give Mr. and Mrs. Gruis the right to farm approximately 40 acres of park land. The right to farm the adjacent park land will be exercisable during their lives, and will be subject to their payment of an agreed annual fee. The right to farm the park land will terminate when the land, or a part of it, is deemed necessary for park research, education, or development.
