HOUSE BILL NO. 747 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the House Committee on Chesapeake and Its Tributaries on February 3, 1994) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Copeland) A BILL to establish the "Friend of the Bay Award" program.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.

§ 1. That the Secretary of Natural Resources shall establish the "Friend of the Bay Award" program. The program shall annually recognize those individuals, businesses, organizations and other entities which have made significant efforts to preserve and enhance the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. The program shall make such awards on a noncompetitive basis, using criteria to be developed by the Secretary of Natural Resources, in consultation with those agencies within the Secretariat.
