SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Jail processing fee. Allows a locality to divide the fees collected post-conviction proportionately between a police department and the sheriff's department if costs are incurred by a police department for booking or fingerprinting services. Currently, the fee may go only to sheriff's offices and regional jails. This bill is identical to SB 777.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Jail processing fee. Adds police departments to those entities that may be compensated to help defray the costs of processing arrested persons. The fee may not exceed $25.
