SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Elections; conduct of election; ranked choice voting; primaries for federal, statewide, and General Assembly offices. Permits political parties to hold primary elections for federal or statewide offices or offices in the General Assembly by ranked choice voting. The bill also allows elections for any local or constitutional office to be conducted by ranked choice voting. Under current law, only elections of members of a county board of supervisors or a city council are allowed to be conducted by ranked choice voting. The bill requires the State Board of Elections to promulgate regulations for the proper and efficient administration of all elections determined by ranked choice voting.
