SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Study; laws and policies governing investigation of child abuse; report. Directs the Virginia State Crime Commission to study the laws and policies governing the reporting, investigation, and tracking of cases of alleged child abuse in the Commonwealth. The study also requests that the Commission identify any advantages or disadvantages of requiring local police departments or the Virginia State Police to investigate every complaint of alleged child abuse and that the Commission make recommendations to increase the quality and effectiveness of child protective services and investigations into alleged cases of child abuse.
