SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Regional sports organizations; inspection of records. Requires regional sports organizations to make all financial books and records relating to the operation and administration of the organization available to members thereof for inspection upon request. This right of inspection shall exist without reference to the duration of the membership and may be exercised only during reasonable business hours or at a mutually convenient time and location. The bill defines “regional sports organization” as any voluntary, nonprofit organization or association which is exempt from taxation under § 501 (c) (7) of the Internal Revenue Code serving a specific geographic area and which operates a sports or other recreational program for the children of its members.
