Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. U.S. Route 340 [ from its intersection with Virginia Route 522 to the Virginia/West Virginia boundary in Clarke County ] is hereby designated the "Lord Fairfax Highway." The Department of Transportation shall place and maintain appropriate markers indicating this designation. This designation shall not affect any other designation heretofore or hereafter applied to this highway or any portion thereof.
