984911172Whereas, James I. Shutt, Sr., joined the Capitol Police force on January 1, 1978; and
Whereas, James I. Shutt, Sr., served as a member of the Division of Capitol Police for nearly twenty years, until his retirement on June 1, 1997; and
Whereas, it is fitting and appropriate that nearly two decades of honorable and meritorious service by James I. Shutt, Sr., to the Commonwealth be recognized by the General Assembly; now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. That James I. Shutt, Sr., be, and hereby is, vested with title to, and authorized to possess and retain as his own, his service handgun, which he used as a member of the Virginia Division of Capitol Police. This transfer is made as a visible and express token of the appreciation of the General Assembly for the professionalism, devotion, and dedication of Capitol Police Officer James I. Shutt, Sr.
