SUMMARY:

Real estate tax exemptions for certain elderly and handicapped persons. Excludes life insurance proceeds from income for purposes of determining eligibility for local real estate tax relief. Eligibility for a local real estate tax relief program is conditioned upon meeting limits on income and net worth. Currently, surviving spouses may be disqualified from the program if they receive life insurance payments.
