SUMMARY:

Transient occupancy tax. Authorizes Augusta, Caroline, James City, Page, and Tazewell County and Augusta County to levy a transient occupancy tax at a rate not exceeding five percent. Revenues from the portion of the tax exceeding two percent shall be spent on tourism and travel promotions. York, Albemarle, Prince William, Spotsylvania, Nelson and Loudoun Counties currently have the same authority.
