SUMMARY:
Pharmacy: Anti-Drug Switching Act. Creates the Virginia Anti-Drug Switching Patient Protection Act, which would prohibit the practice of soliciting or encouraging, after a physician with a bona fide physician/patient relationship issues a prescription for a drug, the substitution of that drug with a chemically dissimilar drug for the purpose of rebate, kick-back, or other such remuneration. The bill establishes civil penalties ranging from $10 per violation to $25,000 and details procedures for recovery of damages, if any.
