SUMMARY:
Judicial Nominations Commission. Creates the Judicial Nominations Commission and circuit/district nominations committees to make nonbinding recommendations to the General Assembly for candidates for elections to judgeships. The 15 Commission members (11 lawyers; 4 nonlawyers) are to be elected by the General Assembly for terms of four years. The Commission appoints, subject to confirmation by the General Assembly, nine members to the local committees (six lawyers; three nonlawyers) who serve four-year terms.
