SUMMARY:
Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation; certain boards. Changes the nomenclature from certification to licensure for lead contractors, professionals, and workers regulated by the Board for Asbestos Licensing; Class C contractors and tradesmen regulated by the Board for Contractors; and waste management facility operators regulated by the Board for Waste Management Facility Operators. The bill also changes the name of the Board for Asbestos Licensing to the Board for Asbestos and Lead. The bill provides that it does not affect the validity of any certificate duly issued by the above boards before July 1, 1997. The bill also contains technical amendments.
