HB 2301 Confinement and disposition of stray animals.

SUMMARY:

Confinement and disposition of stray animals. Provides that at the expiration of the holding period prescribed by existing law (five days for animals not bearing identification and 10 days for identified animals), a stray animal is deemed abandoned and becomes the property of the pound or shelter in which the animal is being confined. Currently, the original owner may in some circumstances reclaim the animal after the holding period has expired.
