SUMMARY:
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Commission. Clarifies the membership, officers to be elected, duties, and compensation of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Commission. The membership of the Commission has also been reconstituted to reflect its responsibilities as a legislative commission. This bill provides that the Division of Legislative Services shall serve as staff to the Commission. Further, the sunset clause in the statute and the second enactment of Chapter 741 of the 1992 Acts of Assembly have been repealed. Under present law, the Commission will expire on July 1, 1997.
