1997 SESSION
HB 1992 Fees and mileage allowances for sheriffs and deputies.
Introduced by: John J. Davies III | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Fees and mileage allowances. Requires that the sheriff's fees and mileage allowances paid to the clerk in connection with a civil or criminal matter be deposited into the treasury of the clerk's city or county. Currently these fees are sent by the receiving clerk to the clerk of the jurisdiction in which service will be made. These fees eventually come back to the state; this bill simply removes the unnecessary step of forwarding the fees across jurisdictions when papers are to be served in a jurisdiction other than the county or city where the case is commenced.
