SUMMARY:
Sales and use tax exemption; nonprofit community and service organizations. Grants a sales and use tax exemption for purchases and leases by any nonprofit Virginia corporation exempt from federal income taxation under § 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code operated for the purposes of advancing a common, environmentally sound vision for Virginia, coordinating a network among member organizations, providing information to its member organizations and to Virginia citizens on environmental and conservation issues, conducting and promoting research and study of environmental problems and promulgating the results thereof, and promoting and supporting sound environmental protection policies. The Conservation Council of Virginia, doing business as the Virginia Conservation Network, would be among the beneficiaries of the exemption.
