SUMMARY:
Circuit court clerks' discretion to accept credit card payment. Adds the Counties of Alleghany, Amherst, Appomattox, Augusta, Bath, Bland, Botetourt, Buckingham, Charles City, Charlotte, Cumberland, Floyd, Franklin, Greensville, Halifax, Highland, Lunenburg, Nelson, Nottoway, Patrick, Rockbridge, Surrey, Sussex and Tazewell and the City of Staunton to the list of localities wherein the circuit court clerks are given the discretion to accept credit cards in lieu of cash for payment for fines and costs. The exception is codified. In jurisdictions other than those listed, the clerk, pursuant to § 19.2-353.3, is required to accept credit card payments.
