SUMMARY:

Charter; City of Alexandria. Replaces language referring to an appointed school board to reflect the City's change to an elected school board. Also, a procedure is provided to allow for a special election to fill vacancies on the school board if the vacancy occurs on or before 180 days prior to the next regular school board election. Currently, general law allows the circuit court to make an appointment for the unexpired term regardless of when the vacancy occurs.
