SUMMARY:
Charter; City of Bristol. Makes numerous technical changes related to the transition of the school board from an appointed to an elected body. Also, the bill provides that (i) the council does not have to meet on Saturday for its inaugural meeting, (ii) lengthy ordinances may be read by title only, (iii) the city manager shall submit a report of the city's financial condition in December rather than October, (iv) the city manager shall submit the annual budget estimate in May rather than March, (v) the divisions within the public works department are to be renamed, and (vi) the existing requirement that one member of the planning commission be a city employee is deleted. This bill is identical to HB 20.
