Introduced by: Eric I. Cantor | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Alcoholic beverage control; use of false identification. Provides that an attempt to purchase or possess alcoholic beverages by a person to whom they may not lawfully be sold is a violation of ABC law. The new provisions make it a violation of ABC law for a person under the age of 21 to use or attempt to use any false identification in order to purchase or attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages; set mandatory penalties of a minimum $500 fine or minimum of 50 hours of community service, which may not be suspended for a person who violates this provision of the ABC law; and grant immunity from administrative penalty to a retail licensee who, in good faith, promptly reports a violation or suspected violation of the illegal sale statute to the ABC Board or any state or local law-enforcement agency.
