HB 417 Extended Service Contract Act.
Introduced by: Eric I. Cantor | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Extended Service Contract Act. Exempts extended service contract providers and the employees of the providers (who market or sell such contracts) from the provisions of the insurance title of the Code of Virginia (§ 38.2-100 et seq.). The bill also defines "obligor" as the person who is contractually obligated to the purchaser to provide services under the extended service contract and makes the obligor, instead of the provider, subject to the Act's registration, recordkeeping and financial responsibility requirements.
