SUMMARY:

Notaries' fees; election officials. Provides that assistant registrars and officers of elections who are notaries may collect fees for notarial services other than services related to the administration of elections or election laws. The bill retains the present law's broader prohibition against the collection of any fees for notarial services with respect to members of electoral boards and general registrars. The change complements revisions previously made in Article II, Section 8 of the Constitution of Virginia and § 24.2-119 of the Code of Virginia.
