HB 1489 Public service companies; manner of laying pipes.
Introduced by: Joe T. May | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Public service companies; manner of laying pipes. Requires public service companies in laying any pipe or conduit to install the pipe or conduit with minimum clearance as may be specified by the State Corporation Commission. Under the bill, however, such clearance may not exceed three feet or, when pipes or conduits cross, twelve inches from any other underground structure to allow proper maintenance and to protect against damage that might result from proximity to other structures. In addition, each pipe or conduit must be installed with sufficient clearance or insulation, so as to prevent heat from impairing the serviceability of the pipe or conduit. Current law specifies the spacing of gas lines.
