SUMMARY:
Enterprise Zone Act; eligibility. Allows the Secretary of Trade and Commerce to waive the requirement for a firm that increases the average number of full-time employees at the firm's establishment located within the enterprise zone by at least 10 percent of the lower of the two preceding years employment with no less than 40 percent of new employees employed at a qualified business firm who either (i) have incomes below 80 percent of the area median income for the jurisdiction prior to employment or (ii) are residents of the zone. The individual qualified business must file an application for a waiver with the chief elected official for the jurisdiction in which the waiver is being requested.
