1996 SESSION
HB 1107 Animal hospitals and clinics; permits.
Introduced by: Gladys B. Keating | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Animal hospitals and clinics. Requires the Board of Veterinary Medicine to issue permits to animal hospitals and clinics, prohibits facilities in which veterinary medicine is practiced from identifying themselves as animal hospitals unless they have a veterinary technician on the premises when the facility is closed, and prohibits animal clinics from housing any animals when the clinic is closed. The requirement of hospitals that they provide 24-hour veterinary technician care may be waived by the Board until July 1, 1998, if the hospital requires its customers to sign a detailed disclosure form which informs them that continuous care is not provided when the hospital is closed. Facilities where veterinary medicine is practiced on livestock must operate as clinics and require their customers to sign disclosure forms when treating or boarding animals other than livestock.
