SUMMARY:
Commercial Code; Article 8; investment securities. Adopts substantial revisions to former Article 8 in recognition of the development of the system by which securities are held by securities intermediaries and the growth and development of the uncertificated securities system. Corresponding amendments are made to other articles of the UCC, particularly Article 9, and the Uniform Act for the Simplification of Fiduciary Security Transfers is repealed. The bill is to become effective January 1, 1996, and is recommended by the Virginia Commissioners to the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws.
