SUMMARY:
Staffing requirements for sheriff's offices. Establishes minimum standards to determine the number of sheriff's deputies; clerical, administrative, and support staff; and other personnel associated with sheriff's offices and local jails based upon the size of the jurisdiction, the local jail population, and participation by the sheriff's office in community programs and alternatives to incarceration. The effective date for most provisions is July 1, 1996.
