SUMMARY:

Medical malpractice. Includes private utilization review agents under coverage of the medical malpractice act. The definition of these review agents for purposes of the malpractice act and Title 38.2 is expanded to include HMOs and health insurers, hospital service corporations, health service plans and preferred provider plans whether or not they are providing utilization review solely for their subscribers or members.
