SUMMARY:
Constitutional amendments; limits on length of service in the General Assembly and Congress (first resolution). Imposes a 12-year limit on service in either or both houses of the General Assembly excluding service for a partial term and service before the 1996 Regular Session. A person would be eligible to serve again in the General Assembly after a four-year hiatus. The proposed amendments also impose a 12-year limit on service in either or both houses of Congress excluding service for a partial term and service before January 1, 1997. A person would be eligible to serve again in Congress after a four-year hiatus.
