SUMMARY:

Speedy trial. Prohibits a defendant from objecting to a violation of the speedy trial rule where the failure to try him within the specified time period resulted from his acquiescence to a trial date set after the period expired or a continuance necessitated by his demand for a jury trial on the date set for trial if he or his counsel had previously represented to the court that trial by jury would be waived.
