SUMMARY:
Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Act. Amends provisions in the Act as follows: (i) changes the penalty for operating a boiler or pressure vessel without a valid inspection certificate or at a pressure exceeding that specified in the certificate from a misdemeanor to a civil penalty (amount of penalty unchanged from a maximum of $100 for each day of violation); (ii) partially eliminates the schedule of fees for certain inspections; and (iii) specifies that the Commissioner of Labor and Industry, his agents or special inspectors may conduct variance reviews, owner-user inspection audits, emergency repair reviews, accident investigations, violation follow-ups and secondhand or used boiler reviews.
