SUMMARY:

Sales tax exemption; civic and community service exemptions. From July 1, 1995, through June 30, 1998, exempts from the Virginia Retail Sales and Use Tax Act food, food products, and services sold to residents under the Department of Housing and Urban Development-approved meal plan by nonprofit organizations exempt from taxation under § 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code and receiving federal assistance under HUD Section 8 programs. Incorporated in House Bill 1459.
