Introduced by: Harvey B. Morgan | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Commercial landings license. Requires fishermen who are not registered with the Virginia Marine Resources Commission as commercial fishermen to obtain a commercial landings license if they land any seafood in Virginia which is harvested outside the tidal waters of Virginia. The existing procedure for registering as a commercial fisherman applies to persons who fish in the tidal waters of the state. Persons obtaining a commercial landings license will be required to report their seafood catches. A separate license will be required for each vessel, and licenses will not be transferable. The license fee will be $150 annually. The fees, together with civil penalties assessed for violations, will be paid into the Virginia Marine Products Fund.
