HOUSE BILL NO. 2383 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the House Committee on Appropriations on February 2, 1995) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Barlow) A BILL to provide disabled county sheriffs with assistance from the Commonwealth; appropriation.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That the Commonwealth shall pay the cost of wheelchairs, including motorized wheelchairs, related appliances and equipment, and reasonable costs to equip or retrofit one motor vehicle for handicapped accessibility for any former county sheriff who, on or before January 1, 1964, was disabled while in the line of duty as the result of the felonious misconduct of another.

§ 2. That the sum of $16,000 is hereby appropriated from the general fund of the state treasury for these purposes.

§ 3. That the provisions of this act shall expire on December 31, 1995.
