1995 SESSION
LD8662483Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 46.2-736.1 as follows:
§ 46.2-736.1. Special license plates for members of the Virginia House of Delegates and members of the Virginia Senate.
On receipt of an application and written evidence that the applicant is a member of the Virginia House of Delegates or a member of the Virginia Senate, the Commissioner shall issue to the applicant special license plates. The number shown on any license plate issued under this section shall be based on the relative seniority of the member within his house, with the most senior member being number one. As members’ seniority change, their license plate numbers shall change correspondingly, except that any member whose license plate number is the same as his House of Delegates or Senate district number shall be entitled to continue to use that number, if he so requests, regardless of any change in seniority.
