WHEREAS, on February 29, 2024 the annual House Senate Basketball Game (“The Game”) was held at the Stuart Siegel Center to benefit the Massie Cancer Center; and
WHEREAS, during such game the House of Delegates scored a 2-point basket while only having two elected members of the House of Delegates on the floor in violation of the previously agreed rules of the game; and
WHEREAS, the House of Delegates claims to have “won” the game only by virtue of the illegal basket; and
RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia being the upper chamber and the superior body hereby declares that the outcome of the 2024 House-Senate Basketball Game was a tie; and be it
RESOLVED FURTHER that Clerk of the Senate and Clerk of the House of Delegates shall jointly determine a location for the trophy for such game to reside at a neutral location pending next year’s game; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Senate shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Clerk of the House of Delegates and all of its members.
