Celebrating the life of Jordyn Paige Rasnake.

WHEREAS, Jordyn Paige Rasnake of Richlands, a student at Southwest Virginia Community College, and a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, died on February 18, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Jordyn Rasnake was born to Angel and Eric Rasnake of Brown Mountain on December 29, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Jordyn Rasnake inherited her father’s passion for music and was a talented instrumentalist who enjoyed playing guitar at Keen Mountain Pentecostal Holiness Church in her youth; and

WHEREAS, Jordyn Rasnake excelled in academics and graduated from Keen Mountain Christian Academy as the class salutatorian; and

WHEREAS, Jordyn Rasnake was deeply motivated to serve and safeguard others and planned to follow in her father’s footsteps as a law-enforcement officer; and

WHEREAS, at the time of her passing, Jordyn Rasnake was enrolled in the criminal justice program at Southwest Virginia Community College and was serving in an internship as an auxiliary police officer with the Richlands Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Jordyn Rasnake brought joy to family and friends through her bright smile and infectious laughter, and she touched countless lives through her kindness and grace; and

WHEREAS, Jordyn Rasnake will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her parents, Angel and Eric; her siblings, Tyler and Kylee; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of Virginia hereby note with great sadness the loss of Jordyn Paige Rasnake, a cherished member of the Richlands community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Jordyn Paige Rasnake as an expression of the Senate of Virginia’s respect for her memory.
