WHEREAS, Beth Marshall, a distinguished French educator and leader at Riverbend High School, was named the Spotsylvania County Public Schools Division Teacher of the Year for 2023-2024; and

WHEREAS, a 27-year veteran of teaching, Beth Marshall is renowned at Riverbend High School for her innovative instructional techniques and her dedication to fostering profound and enduring relationships with her students and colleagues; and

WHEREAS, Beth Marshall works tirelessly to cultivate a learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional well-being of her students and is a beacon of inspiration for both her students and peers; and

WHEREAS, Beth Marshall is committed to sharing her knowledge with her fellow world language educators and readily imparts her expertise and resources through presentations at regional and statewide conferences; and

WHEREAS, Beth Marshall was recently appointed to serve as the president of the Foreign Language Association of Virginia, where her experience will be an invaluable asset to the organization in its future endeavors; and

WHEREAS, Beth Marshall exemplifies excellence in the field of education and language instruction through her leadership and unwavering commitment to her students and colleagues, earning the esteem and admiration of all Virginians; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Beth Marshall for being named the 2023-2024 Spotsylvania County Public Schools Division Teacher of the Year; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Beth Marshall as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration for her contributions to Spotsylvania County Public Schools and the Commonwealth.
