24103127DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. That the Department of Health's Office of
Emergency Medical Services [ (the Office) shall convene a work group
to EMS Advisory Board (the Board) shall ] examine the
eligibility requirements for emergency medical personnel, both professional and
volunteer, to join a professional program addressing career fatigue and
wellness established or contracted for by a statewide association as described
in subsection B of § 8.01-581.16 of the Code of Virginia. The [ work
group Board ] shall examine the costs associated with joining
or establishing such a program as well as make recommendations for payment of
such costs. The [ work group shall be composed of the Board
shall consult with ] representatives of the Medical Society of Virginia
and all other stakeholders deemed relevant by the [ Office. The work
group Board. The Board ] shall report its findings and
recommendations to the Chairmen of the House Committee on Health, Welfare and
Institutions and the Senate Committee on Education and Health by October 1,
2024.
