A BILL to direct the Department of Health's Office of Emergency Medical Services to convene a work group to examine requirements for emergency medical personnel joining a professional program addressing career fatigue and wellness.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That the Department of Health's Office of Emergency Medical Services (the Office) shall convene a work group to examine the eligibility requirements for emergency medical personnel, both professional and volunteer, to join a professional program addressing career fatigue and wellness established or contracted for by a statewide association as described in subsection B of § 8.01-581.16 of the Code of Virginia. The work group shall examine the costs associated with joining or establishing such a program as well as make recommendations for payment of such costs. The work group shall be composed of the representatives of the Medical Society of Virginia and all other stakeholders deemed relevant by the Office. The work group shall report its findings and recommendations to the Chairmen of the House Committee on Health, Welfare and Institutions and the Senate Committee on Education and Health by October 1, 2024.
