WHEREAS, Kenneth Robert Williard, an honorable veteran and a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and member of the Stafford County community, died on April 11, 2023; and

WHEREAS, after graduating from Pleasantville High School in New Jersey, Kenneth “Ken” Robert Williard enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country with honor and distinction aboard the aircraft carrier USS Lexington until his honorable discharge in 1956; and

WHEREAS, Ken Williard embarked upon his professional career with the consumer credit reporting agency Equifax, which took him from Pleasantville, New Jersey, to Philadelphia, to Wilmington, Delaware, to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and finally to Richmond as he advanced through a number of managerial positions; and

WHEREAS, in his retirement, Ken Williard built a home in Brooke and became an active and engaged member of the community, serving with the Brooke Volunteer Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, Ken Williard was a trusted mentor and counselor for many over the years, providing informed, sage guidance and advice to others in their times of joy and struggle; and

WHEREAS, guided throughout his life by his faith, Ken Williard enjoyed worship, fellowship, and participating in community outreach with the congregation at Andrew Chapel Methodist Church in Stafford; and

WHEREAS, Ken Williard will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary; his children, Kenneth and David, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Kenneth Robert Williard, a cherished member of the Stafford County community whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Kenneth Robert Williard as an expression of the House of Delegates’ respect for his memory.
