Commending Sangamam Tamil School.

WHEREAS, Sangamam Tamil School is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization in Loudoun County dedicated to teaching students the ancient South Asian language of Tamil and about aspects of Tamil heritage and culture; and

WHEREAS, Sangamam Tamil School was founded in 2013 by parents of the Tamil diaspora who wanted their children to learn the Tamil language; and

WHEREAS, Sangamam Tamil School offers a six-level learning program in which students develop skills in reading, writing, and speaking Tamil and a deeper understanding of Tamil customs and values; and

WHEREAS, Sangamam Tamil School immerses students in various aspects of Tamil culture through engaging art, music, drama, and dance activities; and

WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Sangamam Tamil School are the result of the tireless efforts of the many volunteers who support the organization’s programs; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Sangamam Tamil School hereby be commended for its legacy of service in teaching young people the Tamil language and about Tamil heritage and culture; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Sangamam Tamil School as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for the organization’s mission and achievements.
