Commending Caffe Amouri.

WHEREAS, Caffe Amouri, a beloved local business and coffee shop in Vienna, has been providing exceptional coffee and service to the community since it was established in 2010; and

WHEREAS, Caffe Amouri has developed a loyal legion of patrons over the years and built a reputation throughout the local food scene as a place where friends and neighbors can gather to enjoy one another’s company; and

WHEREAS, Caffe Amouri has grown beyond the bounds of a standard coffee shop by regularly hosting open mic nights, its Walk to School Wednesdays, and other events and by offering coffee-related classes in subjects such as espresso tasting and latte art; and

WHEREAS, inspired by the Italian practice of caffe sospeso, Caffe Amouri established a “Cup on the Wall” program, in which a cup of coffee is paid for in advance and available to anyone in need, as a way to foster goodwill and a greater sense of community during the COVID-19 pandemic; and

WHEREAS, Caffe Amouri has generously supported many local organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, the Women’s Center in Vienna, and Bringing Resources to Aid Women’s Shelters (BRAWS); and

WHEREAS, Caffe Amouri epitomizes the way in which small local businesses enrich communities and improve the quality of life for many; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Caffe Amouri hereby be commended for its legacy of accomplishments in service to the residents and visitors of Vienna; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Michael Amouri, owner of Caffe Amouri, as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for the cafe’s contributions to Vienna and the Commonwealth.
