Celebrating the life of Warren H. Lacy.

WHEREAS, Warren H. Lacy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and active and engaged member of the Richmond community, died on August 7, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Warren H. “Joe” Lacy worked with great dedication and sense of purpose throughout his career and was a longtime member of what was at the time the Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association Local Union No. 100; and

WHEREAS, Joe Lacy gave generously of his time in support of the Henrico County Democratic Committee and was a regular presence on election days outside the polls at Chamberlayne Elementary School; and

WHEREAS, Joe Lacy fostered community and friendship as a member of the Northside Lodge No. 292 of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons; and

WHEREAS, guided throughout his life by his faith, Joe Lacy enjoyed worship and fellowship with his community at Chamberlayne Baptist Church in Richmond for many years until it closed in 2021, and then he became a devoted member of Glen Allen Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, preceded in death by his daughter, Connie, Warren Lacy will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife, Shirley; his children, Diane, Laura, Curtis, and Bonnie, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Warren H. Lacy, a cherished member of the Richmond community who was a source of joy and inspiration to all who knew him; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Warren H. Lacy as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
