HOUSE BILL NO. 355 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the Senate Committee on Education and Health on February 15, 2024) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Cole) A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 22.1-296.5, relating to school boards; teachers; employment verification; requirement.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 22.1-296.5 as follows:

§ 22.1-296.5. Employment verification required.

Each school board shall respond within 10 business days of receiving a request for employment verification of a former employee of the school board when such verification is sought by another school board.
