SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Animal testing facilities; noncompliance with federal laws and regulations; civil penalty. Establishes certain restrictions and civil penalties for animal testing facilities, as defined in the bill, that have received citations for noncompliance with the federal Animal Welfare Act or regulations adopted thereunder. The bill requires animal testing facilities to register annually with the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, to pay an annual registration fee to the Department, and to report citations received for violations of the federal Animal Welfare Act or regulations adopted thereunder to the Department.
