Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 2.2-2238.2 as follows:

§ 2.2-2238.2. Virginia-Taiwan Trade Office.

A. Pursuant to the powers and duties of the Authority related to economic development services in subdivisions A 6 and 7 of § 2.2-2238, the Authority shall coordinate with the government of Taiwan to establish a Virginia-Taiwan Trade Office to serve as the official representation of the Commonwealth in Taiwan.

B. The Virginia-Taiwan Trade Office will promote and offer services relating to economic development, trade, education, and cultural exchanges and interests between the Commonwealth and Taiwan, including but not limited to exploring business operations and investments, promoting the Commonwealth's agricultural, industrial, and commercial products and services to Taiwan, and generating new business opportunities, sales, and investments across various industries serving the interests of residents of the Commonwealth and the people of Taiwan.
