23103431DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The Department of Education shall convene a work group to evaluate options and make recommendations for online education planning and communication platforms to assist secondary school students and their parents in preparing for twelfth grade transition. In making its recommendations, the work group shall consider (i) online education planning and communication platforms that utilize O*NET Data to connect and match students to current opportunities in high demand careers while protecting the data of such students through using de-individualized methods and (ii) online skills evaluation platforms, to be available to students in grades eight through 12, that would enable such students to complete an individual career and academic plan and use that plan to navigate available postsecondary career and education pathways, including workforce and military opportunities. The work group shall report its recommendations to the Governor and the Chairmen of the House Committees on Appropriations and Education and the Senate Committee on Education and Health no later than November 1, 2023.
